Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The Assessment (VET and Foundation) Policy was updated in Q3 2025 as part of the Revised Standards for RTOs Project and approved by Chief Executive in Q4 2025 under the urgent approval provisions. In accordance with the Policy Framework, a full review of the policy suite commenced in Q1 2026, with consultation now complete.

The review incorporated changes to align with the revised RTO Standards, removed content not directly related to assessment (including complaints and appeals) and integrated references to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as it relates to assessment judgement. These RPL related provisions were previously contained within the Skills and Learning Recognition, Credit Transfer and RPL (VET and Foundation) Policy.

In addition to the key policy changes, several updates have been made to improve clarity, efficiency and alignment with current standards and governance arrangements. The policy updates include:
• amendments to improve readability and consistency
• removal of outdated references to Boards, Committees, and related functions
• updates to role titles to reflect current organisational structures
