Summary of Changes from Previous Version
The review incorporated changes to align with the revised RTO Standards, removed content not directly related to assessment (including complaints and appeals) and integrated references to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as it relates to assessment judgement. These RPL related provisions were previously contained within the Skills and Learning Recognition, Credit Transfer and RPL (VET and Foundation) Policy.
The Procedure has also been expanded to provide greater clarity and guidance in relation to:
• clarification of Education Managers’ responsibilities in relation to assessor requirements
• clearer articulation of the assessment information that must be provided to learners within assessment tools
• the development, maintenance, and review of assessment tools
• assessment extensions
• the conduct of assessments, including those delivered digitally
• moderation processes
• marking and the recording of outcomes for competency-based units
• responding to requests for re-assessment and disputes of results
• responding to learner complaints
• the application of continuous improvement principles across the lifecycle of assessment tools
