Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This is the first document to be published in Melbourne Polytechnic's new Policy Register. It is basically equivalent to the document that was approved and in effect at the time the migration occurred, except for the numbering system and references, which have been updated to align with the new formatting and current requirements.

Edition 1: Melbourne Polytechnic Board – 12/12/2022 – This new procedure supersedes the existing Student Academic Integrity (HE) Procedure that previously only covered Higher Education students. This procedure covers all students and includes research integrity as a component of academic integrity. Appendices included provide guidance on academic integrity breaches, responses and penalties for Higher Education, Foundation and VET students. As well as summary processes for informal and formal investigations of suspected breaches. The procedure considers feedback from a TEQSA audit undertaken in 2022 that reviewed Melbourne Polytechnic’s existing Academic Integrity (HE) Policy and academic integrity governance and management framework. It captures recommendations developed as an outcome of that review.
